The Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Women's Program
The Women’s Legal Service (SA) established the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Women’s Program in the 1990s, in order to provide legal assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women across South Australia.

The program recognises that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women face multiple barriers in accessing services, let alone the legal system.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander program aims to work towards the removal of these barriers, by working alongside Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander women to support them in engaging in a meaningful and empowering way with the legal system.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Project also provides legal education to women and the community, in relation to legal matters affecting them.
